Life Skills Coaching

Tailor-made coaching for young adults (18-25)

Our Registered Provisional Psychologist Juliana Kim, is now offering this individual one-to-one life skills coaching for young adults (age 18-25).

Young adulthood is a time of growth, change, and exploration. As individuals transition from adolescence to adulthood, they face unique challenges that can affect their mental well-being. By combining psychological principles with practical strategies tailored specifically to each client’s individual needs, this type of coaching can lead to improved quality of life for young adults.

Some of the ways life skills coaching can help young adults:

  • Engaging with public transport or road skills (e.g. purchasing tickets, asking for help, mapping transport routes etc)

  • Booking and engaging with health professionals and others (knowing how to select a good professional for their needs, knowing how to access support,  book doctors' appointments, plumbing or electrical services etc.)

  • Psychoeducation as needed (sleep hygiene, physical hygiene, nutrition, stress management etc.)

  • Social skills development - learning how to engage and when it is appropriate to engage in conversations with people at different levels e.g. small talk, casual conversations etc.,

  • Emotional intelligence development, e.g. assertiveness, boundaries, stress management, empathy, conflict resolution etc.

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Goal setting

  • Learning skills e.g. paraphrasing, time management etc

  • Using available resources to improve quality of life

Appropriate feedback and hands-on skill development to increase success and learning. Because it is hands-on skills for the real world some sessions may be more appropriate to be conduced in the community - eg. accessing transport together etc.
